What to expect when seeing a naturopathic doctor
An initial visit with me is 1.5 hours, and includes a full health history. I often provide a requisition for laboratory testing in order to further investigate areas of health such as hormonal imbalance, thyroid health and nutrient deficiencies. It’s important to test your hormones at the correct days of your cycle in order to get accurate results. My goal is to empower my patients by educating them at every step of the way. I encourage you to ask me any questions you may have about your health concerns or goals!
At the end of the visit, you will receive a treatment plan that is specific for your case. This may include treatment options such as supplements, nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, bioidentical hormones, herbal prescriptions or acupuncture. If required, certain pharmaceutical prescriptions may be used. This plan may be altered as we work together and continue to monitor lab results, symptoms and health goals.
A few services that may be provided for assessment or treatment may include:
- Full physical exams
- Lab requisitions (blood, saliva or urine)
- Prescriptions if necessary
- Acupuncture
- Supplement and herbal prescriptions
- Vitamin B12 injections
- Dietary recommendations and nutritional support
- Lifestyle suggestions
